Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad
Drive Time from Snowshoe: 15 minutes
A ride on the Cass Scenic Railroad is a memorable adventure for visitors of all ages, offering the chance to experience the sights, sounds, and excitement of a historic steam locomotive.
For conference attendees: We recommend Friday's 2pm Whitaker train, which is a 2 hour round trip from the depot at Cass.
Green Bank Observatory

Looking for an experience that’s truly out of this world? Visit Green Bank Observatory, home to some of the world’s most powerful radio telescopes. Explore the science center or take a tour of the impressive telescopes that call Green Bank home.
Tours daily at 10am, 12pm, 2pm & 4pm. Science center is open 9:30am - 5:30pm.
Hillsboro Pub
Drive Time from Snowshoe: 45 minutes (219 South)
A must see on your way in or out of Snowshoe, the Hillsboro Public House, is a charming restaurant housed in a building that dates back to the early 1900s and once served as Moore’s General Store, the Public House offers a unique setting to relax, grab a bite, and experience a taste of the area’s history and hospitality.
