Everything you need to make the most of your WVEDC Fall Conference experience at Snowshoe. 

Getting Here & Check In

Plan for limited cell service as you travel.  Due to the National Radio Quiet Zone, travelers may lose cell service while making their way to Snowshoe. We recommend setting your GPS and downloading any directions you may need before you head to the resort.   

If you've booked through Snowshoe, most check-ins are at the Inn at the BOTTOM of the mountain (565 Cass Rd, Slatyfork, WV 26291).   Double check your reservation and set your GPS accordingly.  Your room and check-in may not be at the same address.

Attire

Think comfortable business casual. We hope you'll adopt the relaxed mountain atmosphere while you are here. You will be walking from your lodging to the Shavers Center, to breakout sessions, and back. We recommend comfortable shoes and dressing in layers.

Come prepared for mountain weather. September typically sees temps are in the low 70s during the day and mid50s at night. But mountain weather can change quickly. Bring layers and an umbrella so you’re prepared for whatever the mountain has in store.

This is my first time to Snowshoe. What should I know?

Be prepared for fantastic views and a great conference! Due to the rural location, you should also know:

Plan for limited cell service. Due to the National Radio Quiet Zone, travelers may lose cell service while making their way to Snowshoe. We recommend setting your GPS and downloading any directions you may need before you are within about 30 miles of the resort.

Come prepared for mountain weather. Snowshoe Mountain Resort is located at the top of a mountain, where temperatures and conditions can change quickly. We recommend bringing layers and an umbrella so you’re prepared for whatever the mountain has in store.

Make the most of your stay! Snowshoe is a destination resort in the heart of Nature’s Mountain Playground, with plenty of opportunities to explore, relax and enjoy the outdoors. Take some time to discover what adventures are available and make the most of your conference experience.  Check out the ‘This Week On The Mountain’ page at Snowshoe. What will the weather be like?
Typically, temps are in the low 70s during the day and mid50s at night. However, mountain weather can be unpredictable! We recommend bringing layers, a light jacket, an umbrella, and comfortable shoes. Check the forecast, but come prepared!
Where do I park?

You will receive a parking pass, directions of where to park, and map at check-in.  If you aren't booked with Snowshoe, parking is available in the Village Lodging Parking (see map).

There is limited parking at the Corduroy Inn for Wednesday's reception, so consider carpooling. 

There is limited handicapped parking near the Shavers Center.

Will Wi-Fi be available?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available. If you are in a building or nearby one, you should be able to access the Snowshoe Open Network. No passcode necessary.
Are meals included with my registration?

We will serve appetizers at our Welcome reception on Wednesday.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Thursday. Breakfast will be provided on Friday.

All other meals will be on your own.
